Job SummaryAs a Structural Steel Inspector, you will work collaboratively to inspect and test structural steel during erection on general commercial building sites. The role requires a thorough understanding of building construction practices and daily communication with site contractors, technicians, and project managers. Responsibilities include performing observations, inspections, and tests of building construction projects and documenting findings in accordance with accepted engineering practice.
Salary$28.00–$35.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Requirements- At least 2 years’ experience with construction and structural steel erection.
- AWS CWI or ICC welding certification.
- ICC high‑strength bolting certification.
- Certification as Level II in PT, MT, and UT methods preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to meet pre‑employment requirements.
- Reliable vehicle suitable for use on construction sites.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, as required.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 60–80 pounds.
- Ability to interpret engineering and construction plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of AWS and AISC specifications desired.
- Knowledge of other trades such as soils, aggregates, concrete, fireproofing, and EIFS is a plus.
