Instructional Support Team Member – Part Time

The Instructional Support Team Member is responsible for providing support for the learning needs of students requiring academic or behavioral assistance. The role includes assisting those with support plans, providing accommodations when needed and communicating with members of the faculty, family, and the MCIU (Montco Intermediate Unit).

A bachelor's degree in Special Education, with certification, is preferred. Experience working with Middle School students is also preferred. Candidates with similar education/experience will be considered.

• Become familiar with students who have been identified as requiring support.
• Meet with students who might need support through testing, teacher referrals and behavior analysis.
• Work closely with classroom teachers to ensure students are receiving recommended accommodations and modifications.
• Report to IST Coordinator on a weekly basis with updates and/or concerns.
• Serve as the liaison between the school, families and external specialists (MCIU).
• Attend regular meetings with IST Coordinator, parents and staff to review student progress.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and communication.

• Create assessments using recommended modifications/accommodations as needed.
