This is a 9-month full-time faculty position in the Nursing Department, Berman School of Nursing and Health Professions, with responsibilities for teaching, student advising and mentoring, course development, service to the school, department, and university, and continued scholarship in the field. Teaching responsibilities include 24-30 contact hours per academic year, commensurate with rank, including, but not limited to, simulation, theory, and/or clinical experience hours.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, student recruitment, retention, placement efforts; program assessment; and engagement in the life of the university. The faculty member fulfills all responsibilities of a full-time faculty member as defined in the Stevenson University Policies and the School of Nursing and Health Professions Full-Time Faculty Job Description. Rank and title are determined at the time of hire and will be commensurate with education and experience.
Doctorate degree in nursing or a related field and a master’s degree in nursing is required for the rank of Assistant Professor or higher. A master’s degree in nursing is required for the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor. College level teaching experience, recent clinical nursing experience within the past 1-4 years, and a minimum of two years of experience in medical/surgical nursing and/or critical care are preferred.
Must hold or be eligible to obtain an unencumbered license as registered nurse (RN) by the Maryland Board of Nursing, or licensure with multi-state practice privilege in another state, or Advanced Practice RN licensure by the Maryland Board of Nursing. Certification by the American Heart Association ( AHA ) Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification is required.

- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, including PowerPoint, Word and Excel. Database management and other computer skills are valued.

- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed, and to travel between campuses as needed.
Medium work: exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Requires physical abilities consistent with a busy college environment on a campus with buildings and laboratories separated by some distance. Sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, keyboarding, and repetitive motions. Close visual acuity. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. Position requires additional hours for meetings and events, including days, evenings, and weekends.
Position requires sitting and standing for long periods of time and the ability to speak clearly and effectively for an extended period of time.
