About the Role

EDGE Energy is hiring a Home Energy Auditor / Building Performance Consultant to perform comprehensive home energy audits and guide homeowners toward high-impact improvements.

This role combines:

  • consulting with homeowners
  • designing real-world solutions

You will evaluate homes, identify opportunities for improvement, and help homeowners move forward with upgrades such as:

  • insulation and air sealing
  • heat pumps and HVAC modernization
  • electrical upgrades
  • electrification and fuel switching
  • integration with solar

This is not a report-only audit role. You will work closely with our in-house construction teams to ensure solutions are practical, buildable, and impactful.

What You’ll Do

Conduct comprehensive in-home energy audits using diagnostic testing including blower door testing and system inspections. Evaluate homes holistically including:

  • building envelope
  • insulation and air leakage
  • HVAC systems
  • electrical capacity
  • combustion safety
  • electrification readiness

Develop custom improvement pathways for homeowners.

Explain findings clearly and help homeowners understand their options.

Document field data accurately in internal systems and program portals.

Coordinate with in-house trades to ensure recommended solutions are technically sound.

Support projects from initial audit through homeowner commitment.

Manage a strong inbound pipeline of homeowner consultations.

Backgrounds That Transition Well

We are open to training strong candidates from related fields such as:

  • HVAC technicians or installers
  • Construction professionals
  • Weatherization technicians
  • Building science / sustainability graduates

BPI certification is preferred but not required for the right candidate.

EDGE Energy provides training and certification support.

Requirements
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Reliable access to a vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
  • Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, and confined spaces
  • Comfortable performing physical field work and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Google Workspace, mobile apps, CRM systems)
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
  • Building science, energy auditing, or home performance
  • Construction, HVAC, or building systems knowledge
  • BPI certifications (Energy Auditor, Building Analyst, Envelope Professional)
Total Compensation

Total Compensation: $70,000 - $120,000+

Schedule

Full-time - hybrid in the field / work from home or office

Monday - Friday

Typical hours 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Occasional early mornings or evenings may be required.
