As VP, State Government Affairs
, you'll build and own Corgi's state function from the ground up— defining how we show up with regulators and lawmakers across the country as we expand nationwide. You'll report directly to the SVP, Head of Government Affairs & Deputy General Counsel, with the runway, resources, and seniority to do the job right. This is a true executive seat, not a monitoring role.

Insurance is one of the most heavily state-regulated industries in the country. Every product we ship, every market we enter, and every speed advantage we build runs through fifty state insurance departments and the people who run them. The faster we can gain trust, share knowledge and be a true resource to the right commissioner, the right governor's office, or the right legislator in the right state, the faster we launch, file, and grow.

As we expand nationwide, we need someone who can gain the necessary trust and build confidence and share expertise where it doesn't exist yet, and who carries the seniority and trust to be received as Corgi's decision-maker in the room.

You will be Corgi's face and voice with the people who write and enforce the rules our industry runs on. This is an on-the-ground, in-the-room, on-a-plane role. The core of the job is showing up in state capitals, walking into Departments of Insurance, sitting across the table from commissioners and legislators, and building the kind of trust and sharing the necessary expertise that they can rely on.

• Build and maintain direct, durable relationships with state insurance commissioners, deputy commissioners, and DOI senior staff across the country
  — deepening Corgi's footprint in core states and planting the flag in new ones.
• Develop relationships with governors, governors' insurance and financial services advisors, and senior administration staff in priority states. These are the people who set the regulatory tone— we need to be in the room sharing expertise, having the important conversations and being present and involved when when they're shaping it.
• Cultivate relationships with key legislators
  — especially insurance committee chairs and members— and their staff. Get to know them before we need something and be a trusted stakeholder that they can rely on, trust, and seek for expertise.
• Stand up and steward Corgi's state PAC program
  , including strategy, governance, and multi-state compliance, in partnership with counsel.
• Spend real time on the road in state capitals.
• Represent Corgi at NAIC, NCOIL, and state regulator working groups. These are relationship venues first, policy venues second. Be there, every time to prove yourself as a trusted and valued member of the conversation that provides real value, experience and perspective.
• Manage and direct our network of contract lobbyists across multiple states so they're amplifying your relationships, not substituting for them. This is including selection, oversight, and state lobbying registration and reporting compliance.
• Be Corgi's early-warning system: pick up regulatory signals and shifting political dynamics directly from the people closest to them, and bring them home before they become problems.
• Partner with internal legal, product, and ops teams to translate what you're hearing on the ground into action.
