- JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
- Job Summary:
- As a dietitian, you will work with patients on a daily basis creating solutions for weight loss. The goal is to help maintain a high quality of care by overseeing all aspects of the patient’s nutrition and diet.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree or an advanced degree from an accredited institution with a major in Food and Nutrition, including completion of an accredited Dietetic Internship.
- Registration/Certification/Licensure:
- Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Valid Maryland Dietitian license
- Personal Liability Insurance
- Current CPR certification
- Experience:
- Position requires 1-2 years of experience as a dietitian/nutritionist.
- Other Requirements:
- Maintains unit-specific and hospital competencies, mandatory learning, and any clinical certifications required in accordance with the Staff Education and Training policy GA-057 and/or any other department requirements.
- Critical thinking to integrate facts, informed opinions, active listening, and observations.
- Decision-making, problem-solving and collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish productive working relationships with multidisciplinary team and support services.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form with patients, the public, medical staff, and physicians.
- Ability to counsel and motivate others, as individuals and as a group.
- General knowledge of nutrient analysis, word processing, spreadsheet, and professional presentation software.
- Flexibility to adapt to changes in medical protocols and policy.
