Bell Attendant – Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah

Responsibilities
  • Transfer and store guest luggage, escort arriving and departing guests to their rooms, and acquaint guests with room features.
  • Retrieve guest items from cars, buses, vans and carts; grasp, lift, carry and/or load luggage onto a bell cart and transport items throughout the hotel.
  • Navigate the trolley through public areas, guest room corridors and elevators.
  • Listen and respond to guest inquiries using a clear speaking voice, providing accurate information on outlet hours, directions, and hotel services.
  • Organize and store luggage in the storage room as needed.
  • Greet customers immediately with a friendly welcome; remain calm and attentive, especially during emergencies.
  • Clean and polish buggies, luggage trolleys and other equipment used in the department.
  • Answer guest queries and refer them to appropriate contact points.
  • Ensure a speedy resolution to any problems that may arise on shift.
  • Read and match luggage tags, write claim tickets, detach portion to give to guest.
  • When holding a valid UAE driver’s license, assist with guest transportation by driving the hotel’s limousine with prior approval.
Requirements
  • Ability to understand and follow written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Strong customer service skills, including patience, tact and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in reading English sufficient for locating information on luggage tags and claim tickets.
  • Physical ability to grip, lift and/or carry, or otherwise move packages, boxes and luggage up to 50 lbs continuously throughout the shift.
  • Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions.
  • Previous experience as a bell person and within a hotel.
