Restore System Administrator

As a Restore System Administrator you will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Your work will depend on the Systems Administrator Advisor role, and you will be instrumental in restoring data, maintaining backup integrity, and participating in disaster recovery planning and execution.
Responsibilities- Assist in the restoration of files, profiles, and mailboxes using backup applications Net Backup, Avamar, and Commvault.
- Assist customers with file management, profile standards, and e-mail organization.
- Profile and permission structure knowledge.
- Resolution and ticket handling awareness to align to SLA obtainment.
- Develops, manages and tests backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develops and maintains disaster recovery plans for critical systems and services.
- Participates in disaster recovery drills and business continuity planning.
- Maintains detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Creates reports on system performance, security incidents, and other key metrics.
- Coordinates with other IT teams to ensure coordinated delivery of IT services.
- Provides recommendations for system improvements based on analysis and industry best practices.
- Provides support to end users and other IT staff by resolving complex hardware, software, and system related issues.
- Ability to work Tuesday through Saturday 9:00 AM—5:00 PM.
- Willingness to work in the Data Center to facilitate tape movements for data restores.
- Education:
Technical training, certification(s), or degree related to IT infrastructure. - Experience:
Five (5+) years of related experience in backup & recovery, disaster recovery, or systems administration. - Technical skills:
Critical thinker, quick learner, detail oriented, organizational skills. - Communication:
Strong verbal and written skills; ability to interact with customers and technical staff. - Security clearance:
Must currently possess and be able to obtain Top Secret SCI + Polygraph clearance. - US citizenship required.
- Must be 8570 compliant with a Security+ certification.
- Shift: Tuesday through Saturday, 9 AM–5 PM.
- Location:
Annapolis Junction, MD.
- Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
- Travel required:
Less than 10%. - Telecommuting options:
Onsite only. - Work location:
USA, MD – Annapolis Junction.
