User Experience Researcher

Overview

Black Canyon Consulting (BCC) is hiring a UX Researcher to lead user research efforts and provide actionable insights for our government clients as part of the IT/Product Modernization for one of the largest public repositories of high‑throughput data sequencing. The role involves conducting user interviews, usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions and enhance user experiences. Strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a thorough understanding of user‑centered design principles are essential.

• Identify and document key stakeholders and user personas for our data sequencing initiative.
• Develop outreach strategies for new data models.
• Conduct user research through interviews, surveys, and focus groups to gather insights on user needs and preferences.
• Compile findings into actionable requirements for updated data model development.
• Prioritize requirements based on business goals and user needs.
• Measure the impact of the initiative on user sentiment.
• Create help documents and other web content.
• Develop communication assets for stakeholder engagement and marketing.
• Document product use cases, specifications, and related data structures.
• Prepare product wireframes and prototypes for stakeholder engagement.
• Plan and implement workshops and codeathons to refine data model components and related products.

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree desired.
• 3+ years of UX Research experience.
• 3+ years conducting interviews and gathering data.
• Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or similar design tools.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
