Our client, a medical device manufacturer specializing in thermoformed components, is seeking a hands-on Machinist to design and build precision tooling for small thermoform parts. This role is centered on Wire EDM tooling fabrication and extends into building, setting up, and troubleshooting thermoforming machines. This is not a manual mill/lathe-only position — the ideal candidate is comfortable with programming, 3D drawings, tool design, and hands‑on machine work.

• Design and machine Wire EDM tooling for small thermoform parts (approximately 65% of time)
• Interpret 3D drawings and CNC/EDM programs to produce precision tooling to spec
• Build, assemble, and set up thermoforming machines
• Troubleshoot and perform hands‑on repair and adjustment of thermoforming equipment
• Review machine programs and drawings to identify and correct issues before and during production
• Collaborate with engineering on tool design and design‑for‑manufacturability feedback
• Maintain tooling documentation and support continuous improvement of the tool build process

• Hands‑on Wire EDM programming and machining experience (required)
• Ability to read and work from 3D drawings/CAD models and machine programs
• Demonstrated experience building, installing, or troubleshooting thermoforming or similar production machinery
• Comfortable working beyond manual mill/lathe operation — candidates limited to manual milling and lathe work will not be a fit
• Strong mechanical aptitude with a hands‑on, problem‑solving approach to machine builds
• Experience in a medical device or other regulated manufacturing environment a plus

• Tool design experience for thermoform or plastics tooling
• Familiarity with tooling CAD/CAM software
