Role Overview
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) provides residents and patients with daily nursing care in accordance with company standards and regulatory guidelines.
Responsibilities- Care Management and Service Delivery (80%):
Provide daily resident and patient care following nursing procedures and Charge Nurse instructions. Ensure Plan of Care maintained. Perform Activities of Daily Living (ADL) including personal hygiene, elimination, comfort, safety, ambulation, lifting, skin care, nutrition, hydration. Assist with care of dying resident and post-mortem care. Observe and report pressure areas and skin breakdown. Assist with nursing treatments. Provide daily rehabilitative/restorative procedures.
Create and maintain a warm, calm environment. Answer resident calls promptly. - Operations Management (10%):
Check rooms for medications and unauthorized food items; report findings. Maintain rooms and work areas/equipment clean and sanitary, following infection control and safety procedures. Attend care conferences, employee and departmental meetings, trainings. Share observations and insights to improve quality and efficiency. - Administration and Reporting (10%):
Measure and record entries (ADL coding, intake/output, temperatures, weight) in EMR. Report changes in condition to Charge Nurse promptly. Report concerns and complaints from residents, patients, or families. Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required. - Certification:
Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) in good standing on the Ohio Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry. - Experience:
None required; on-the-job training provided. - Other Requirements:
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Sitting up to 8 hours per day.
- Standing up to 8 hours per day.
- Walking up to 8 hours per day.
- Lifting, transferring, pushing or pulling residents or equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Work weekends, evenings, and holidays as scheduled.
- Potential exposure to falls, burns, odors, cuts, infectious waste, disease processes, and blood borne pathogens.
