Join the team at The Salvation Army of Memphis & the Mid‑South and help lead one of our ARC – Adult Rehabilitation Center locations.
Job Summary- Assist in supervising store employees and participate in day‑to‑day store and warehouse operations while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Secure cashier funds and maintain a neat, attractive presentation of merchandise with well‑stocked displays.
- Assist customers in locating items, provide pricing information, and explain store policy.
- Support employees in resolving routine problems and handling special assignments.
- Assume Store Manager responsibilities when needed, fostering a positive working atmosphere and professional relationships with vendors, donors, customers, beneficiaries, coworkers, and management.
Skills and Abilities
- Effective customer service techniques.
- Principles and practices of basic mathematics.
- Reading, writing, and effective communication in English.
- Operating a cash register and accurately performing routine mathematical computations and change counting.
High School diploma or G.E.D. preferred. Experience working in a retail store preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and CertificationsNone.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions- Attend regularly and work positively with a variety of personalities and people.
- Perform light physical effort (sitting, walking, standing, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing, pulling) 75‑100% of the work time; light objects (generally < 25 lbs).
- Work in a normal store environment with minimal physical discomfort from weather changes.
