Title: Jared Assistant General Manager
Reports To: General Manager
Reporting to this Position: All store personnel in the General Manager’s absence
Minimum Requirements- Completion of Information Security Privacy Awareness Quiz with a passing score
- Completion of Safety First Quiz (Akron‑Based Team Members) or the 2016 Safety Curriculum (Dallas‑Based Team Members) with a passing score
- No Code of Conduct written counseling within the past six months
- Meets all expectations (Akron‑based Team Members) or Achieved Requirements (Dallas‑based Team Members) on last Performance Appraisal
- Completion of Minimum Training Requirements training module (Found on Signet Learning Portal) and passing the Minimum Training Requirements Quiz
- Assume the duties and responsibilities of the General Manager in his/her absence.
- Contribute to an environment of total customer satisfaction by making the customer’s needs the first priority.
- Exert maximum effort to achieve store sales projections.
- Assist in maintaining daily focus among all associates on standards achievement.
- Assist in enforcing all policies and procedures to assure store profits by controlling markdowns, store expenses, and payroll.
- Assist in sales training, store meetings, and role plays as directed by the General Manager.
- Assist in recruiting and selecting personnel; interview and screen as necessary.
- Enforce all store policies and practices to protect the company’s interests.
- Acquire expert knowledge of merchandise features, benefits, quality, value, warranties, and services; complete Diamontology and GIA Gemology courses.
- Act with respect toward others; maintain a neat, professional appearance.
- Project a positive, enthusiastic attitude to inspire and motivate others; promote a cooperative, team‑spirited work atmosphere.
- Consistently monitor customer flow at each counter and reposition personnel to provide superior service.
- Investigate and handle customer complaints quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
- Implement and administer merchandise and advertising programs, displays, and inventories as directed. Report customer comments and requests to management.
- Monitor merchandise saleability by spot‑checking cases and displays for proper tickets; ensure proper presentation.
- Develop a full understanding of sales, credit, administrative and security policies, procedures, and duties; learn all store promotions.
- Assist the General Manager in supervising sales, office, and inventory personnel; recommend promotions when appropriate.
- Develop technical knowledge of repairs and custom design services; estimate costs on watch and jewelry repairs; execute minor repairs as needed.
- Assist in monitoring inventory control functions.
- Assist in store maintenance, both inside and outside, by delegating or performing duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Adhere to all established security and loss prevention policies.

- During non‑peak periods, general managers should aim for a five‑day, 40‑hour work week.
- Schedule based on optimal times to effectively run the business.
- Combine opening and closing shifts throughout the week, considering operating hours, sales requirements, customer traffic, proper store coverage, and time to coach, train, and develop the team.
Hours will increase during peak selling periods.
Base pay: $16.50 – $21.00 plus commission on sales. Final pay rate shall be determined and is based on experience and qualifications.
