Role Description The Cannabis Dispensary Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based at Spotlight Cannabis MD in Waldorf, MD. This role oversees daily dispensary operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory checks, and ensuring compliance with Maryland cannabis regulations. The supervisor leads and supports the dispensary team, providing direction on customer service standards, assisting with training, coaching staff on product knowledge, and helping resolve escalated customer concerns.

Responsibilities include monitoring sales floor activity, maintaining a clean and organized environment, coordinating staffing schedules, and ensuring accurate point-of-sale transactions. The supervisor also collaborates with management on merchandising, promotions, and loyalty program initiatives to enhance the guest experience and drive store performance.

Qualifications

• Must be 21+ to be considered for this role.
• Must be familiar with Dutchie & Metrc (Marijuana Enforcement Tracking Reporting Compliance) systems.
• Experience supervising retail, hospitality, or customer service teams, with skills in staff leadership, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Strong customer service abilities, including conflict resolution, active listening, and a welcoming, professional manner with diverse guests.
• Basic knowledge of cannabis products and willingness to learn about strains, formats, and medical-use considerations to guide customers responsibly.
• Operational skills in cash handling, point-of-sale systems, inventory checks, and adherence to store procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Clear, professional communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively with team members and management.
• High attention to detail, reliability, and integrity, especially regarding compliance, safety, and handling confidential customer information.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, move about the sales floor, and lift or move light to moderate items as part of daily operations.
• Prior experience in a cannabis dispensary is required.
• Availability to work a full-time schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, in an on-site setting in Waldorf, MD.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or relevant certifications in retail management or cannabis studies are a plus.
