Job Responsibilities
The Security Officer is responsible for covering routine security shifts as assigned. Duties include conducting security rounds of the facility, checking physical security, inspecting fire extinguishers and other safety equipment, and reporting any safety or security defects or anomalies. The officer has access to CCTV monitors to oversee parking areas during shift changes, may perform in‑person monitoring, and is on call for any emergencies at the facility.
Minimum Qualifications- Ability to read and write.
- Six months of experience in building security work.
- U.S. Armed Forces military service experience may substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis.
Employees assigned duties that require handling an automobile must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license in the State of Maryland.
Special Requirements- Employees must be available 24 hours a day and provide a telephone number for contact at all times.
- Employees are subject to substance abuse testing in accordance with the Code of Maryland Regulations 06.01.09.
