Mechanic Technician

We are currently offering a $1,500 sign-on bonus for Mechanic Technician new hires, payable after 90 days of employment.

Carter Machinery Company, the authorized Caterpillar dealer serving Virginia, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and Washington D.C., is hiring a Mechanic Technician in Waldorf, Maryland. The position is responsible for diagnosing problems, performing repairs, reconditioning and servicing heavy equipment and components in a shop environment. Candidates should have a minimum of two years’ experience with heavy construction equipment and work tool repair;

a high school diploma or GED is required.

• Self-starter able to work with limited supervision.
• Occasionally operate heavy machinery.
• Willing to work shifts as needed, including days, nights, and/or weekends.
• Able to perform work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting skills; able to diagnose and repair equipment accurately.
• Proficient with a computer, Microsoft Office products and service software required for the position.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Starting Compensation Range: $29.26 - $41.09 per hour.

Actual base pay may vary based on experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and other business needs. In addition to base pay, total compensation may include participation in performance‑based incentive programs, such as discretionary or non‑discretionary plans.
