The Landscape Foreman is responsible for managing all field operations and crew supervision. This role oversees the execution of landscape design, hardscaping, drainage installation, lawn maintenance, snow removal, brush clearing, and fencing services across residential and commercial properties in Maryland and Pennsylvania. The Foreman ensures quality workmanship, crew safety, client satisfaction, and project profitability while working closely with ownership on estimates and project planning.
- Supervise and manage landscape crew on job sites
- Oversee quality control and ensure work meets company standards and customer specifications
- Perform hands-on landscape work including design layout, hardscaping, plant installation, mulching, pruning, trimming, edging, and debris removal
- Operate and maintain landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, pressure washers, and compact excavators
- Manage snow removal operations and scheduling during winter months
- Coordinate drainage solutions installation and repair
- Supervise hardscaping projects including patios, fire pits, and retaining walls
- Manage brush clearing and debris removal operations
- Train crew members on equipment operation, safety procedures, and work standards
- Track job hours, materials, and expenses for accurate billing
- Communicate daily with ownership on project status, challenges, and solutions
- Ensure all crew members follow company safety protocols and OSHA guidelines
- Load and unload equipment and materials from trucks and coordinate job site logistics
- Maintain equipment through routine maintenance and safety inspections
- Interface with clients to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure satisfaction
- Manage fencing installation and repair projects
- Schedule jobs, coordinate delivery of materials, and optimize crew efficiency
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years landscape, hardscape, or construction experience
- 3+ years crew supervision or management experience
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Expert knowledge of landscape design, hardscaping, and plant materials
- Proficiency operating landscaping equipment including mowers, trimmers, compactors, and chainsaws
- Understanding of drainage systems and installation techniques
- Strong leadership and crew management abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Problem-solving and decision-making ability
- Time management and organizational skills
- Safety awareness and knowledge of OSHA guidelines
- Ability to read blueprints and understand project specifications
- Physical ability to perform hands-on landscape work
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- CPR/First Aid certified preferred
- OSHA safety certification preferred
This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Must be capable of lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs regularly. Will work outdoors in all weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow. Exposure to loud equipment noise, dust, and chemicals. Use of safety gear required. Must be comfortable working in trucks, operating machinery, and performing repetitive motions. Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
