Public Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a candidate actively pursuing CPA licensure to join a growing public accounting firm in Waldwick, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of recent public accounting experience with expertise in financial reporting, auditing, tax preparation, and client relationship management. .

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review financial statements, compilations, reviews, and audits in accordance with GAAP and GAAS.
• Prepare and review individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns.
• Perform tax planning, tax research, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Manage engagement workflows using CCH Engagement, including trial balances, work papers, and financial statement preparation.
• Utilize CCH Knowledge Coach for audit planning, risk assessments, and workpaper documentation.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve issues, and provide accounting guidance.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA license or actively pursuing CPA certification.
• Minimum 3+ years of recent public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, GAAS, and federal/state tax regulations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation.
• Candidates who have passed one or more sections of the CPA exam.
• Hands-on experience with CCH Engagement, CCH Axcess and CCH Knowledge Coach.
• Experience mentoring or supervising accounting staff.
