About Mitten State Bookkeeping Services

Mitten State Bookkeeping is a young, growing firm built on the pillars of accuracy, integrity, and transparency. We provide high level financial clarity to our clients, and we are looking for a Staff Accountant who takes those same values to heart.

The Role

Reporting directly to the owner, you will be responsible for the core financial health of our clients. This is a part-time role (15 hours/week to start) with significant room for growth as we scale.

What You’ll Do:

• Perform comprehensive month end financial statement reviews.
• Read, interpret, and present financial data with high accuracy.
• Maintain records via Quick Books and Excel.
• Take initiative on ad-hoc projects and operational tasks as the business evolves.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Experience: 5+ years of proven accounting experience.
• Skillset: Ability to read, interpret, and present month end financial statement reviews. Also, ability to perform advanced bookkeeping.
• Tech Stack: Fluent in Quick Books and Excel. (Xero experience is a major plus).
• Location: Must live within 1 hour of Walker, MI for occasional scheduled in-person meetings.
