Tooling Engineer | Walker, MI
Salary Range: $74,000 - $113,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are partnering with organizations in Walker that are seeking Tooling Engineers. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize tooling for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for tooling issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tooling meets production requirements.
- Manage tooling lifecycle, including procurement, maintenance, and end-of-life.
- Develop and maintain tooling documentation, specifications, and standards.
- Evaluate new tooling technologies and materials for process improvement.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in tooling design, development, and optimization within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., Solid Works, CATIA, AutoCAD) for designing and analyzing tooling.
- Strong understanding of various manufacturing processes (e.g., stamping, injection molding, casting) and their associated tooling requirements.
- Experience with tool life management, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for tooling applications.
- Proficiency in a scripting language (e.g., Python) for automation of design or analysis tasks.
- Background in statistical process control (SPC) for tooling performance and quality.
- Familiarity with robotics and automation in a manufacturing environment.
