Calibration Technician | Walker, MI

Salary Range: $45,000 - $70,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform calibrations on a wide range of manufacturing equipment and instrumentation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning calibration equipment.
  • Document calibration results accurately and maintain detailed records.
  • Develop and implement calibration procedures and schedules.
  • Ensure all calibration activities comply with industry standards and internal quality systems.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Maintain and organize calibration tools and test equipment.
Recommended Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED;
    Associate's degree in a technical field preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in calibration, metrology, or a related technical role within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of measurement principles, calibration standards (e.g., ISO 17025, ANSI/NCSL Z540.1), and good laboratory practices
  • Proficient in using various test and measurement equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, pressure calibrators, force gauges)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and calibration procedures
  • Basic computer skills for data entry, report generation, and using calibration management software
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with automated calibration systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to train junior technicians.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Active participation in industry professional organizations.
