Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of welding production personnel.
  • Plan and organize daily welding production schedules to meet output targets.
  • Monitor welding processes and procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot welding-related issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of welded products for defects and compliance.
  • Train and mentor welding staff on best practices, safety protocols, and new techniques.
  • Maintain accurate production records, including output, scrap rates, and downtime.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality assurance) to optimize production flow.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding efficiency and product quality.
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs.
  • Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required;
    Associate s degree in a technical field or related certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a welding production environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Resistance Welding) and their applications.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality control principles and measurement techniques.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve complex welding issues.
  • Strong commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety regulations.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • AWS Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is a plus.
