Overview

Responsibilities- Directly supervise and coordinate the activities of welding production personnel.
- Plan and organize daily welding production schedules to meet output targets.
- Monitor welding processes and procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards, blueprints, and specifications.
- Identify and troubleshoot welding-related issues, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Conduct regular inspections of welded products for defects and compliance.
- Train and mentor welding staff on best practices, safety protocols, and new techniques.
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, scrap rates, and downtime.
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., maintenance, quality assurance) to optimize production flow.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding efficiency and product quality.
- Manage equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs.
- Evaluate employee performance and provide feedback.
- High School Diploma or GED required;
Associate s degree in a technical field or related certification preferred. - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a welding production environment, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Resistance Welding) and their applications.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
- Demonstrated understanding of quality control principles and measurement techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve complex welding issues.
- Strong commitment to safety and ability to enforce safety regulations.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and record keeping.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- AWS Certified Welding Supervisor (CWS) or Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is a plus.
