Shop Combination Welder capable of certifying on multi‑process pipe while proficient in general welding processes. Must have experience in a Tier 1 Pipe Fabrication Shop.

• Pay ranges $28.00 to $37.00 hourly (Combo Welder up to $37.00 based on qualifications)
• Day and Night Shift available – 10% night shift differential

• Pass the on‑site weld test: all MIG & Flux‑core welds must pass visual inspection, x‑ray, and bend test.
• All TIG welds must pass visual inspection and x‑ray.
• TIG all the way out 2.5” double heavy (552 wall) in a 6G position.
• MIG & Flux‑core combined; MIG bead downhill & Flux‑core uphill on 6” 719 wall in a 6G position.

• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining arc length and speed to form specified depth of fusion and bead.
• Obtain specified electrode and insert into portable holder or thread consumable electrode wire through portable gun.
• Connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse as specified by the Welding Engineer.
• Start power supply to produce electric current.
• Strike arc to generate heat to make and deposit metal from electrode to workpiece and join edges.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Clean or degrease weld joint or workpiece using wire brush, grinder, or chemical bath.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Prepare broken parts for welding by grooving or scarfing surfaces.
• Chip off excess weld, slag, and spatter using hand scraper or power chipper.
• Preheat workpiece using hand torch or heating furnace.
• Position and clamp work pieces or assemble them in jig or fixture.
• Tack assemblies together.
• Cut metal plates or structural shapes.
• May be designated as Welder, Carbon Arc, Welder, Flux‑Cored Arc, Welder, Gas‑Metal Arc, Welder, Gas‑Tungsten Arc, Welder, Hand, Submerged Arc, Welder, Plasma Arc, or Welder, Shielded‑Metal Arc.
• May be required to pass employer performance tests or standard tests to meet certification standards of governmental agencies or professional and technical associations.
• Perform only jobs for which trained and authorized.
• Work in accordance with safe job practices and comply with company safety rules.
• Use required personal protective equipment.
• Report unsafe conditions or practices.
• Cooperate during investigation of any accidents that occur.
• Participate in safety meetings, pre‑job safety briefings, hazard analyses, and Job Safety Analyses.
• Follow instructions and pre‑established guidelines.
• Work under minimum supervision, typically reporting to a supervisor.
