Summary of Position The Production Supervisor (Night Shift) position(we also call it a Team Lead
!) helps keep daily operations running smoothly in our Extrusion department by organizing schedules, assigning work, and working closely with the day-to-day team. This role supports new employee onboarding and training, provides regular feedback, and helps coach and motivate team members in a team supervisory role.
This is a production floor position(“boots on the ground”)that supports the team, answers questions, and solves problems as they come up. Strong people skills are important as this role works closely with employees to build skills, maintain a positive work environment, and keep everyone working safely and efficiently.

What your day-to-day responsibilities will look like:- Set a high personal example of professionalism: attitude, communication, attire, attendance, accountability, and leadership
- Help keep daily operations in the Extrusion department areas organized and running efficiently(A clean shop is a happy shop!)
- Manage roughly 20 employees on a day-to-day basis: team schedules, assign work, and ensure proper coverage for time off
- Collaborate with all other leaders to meet shift and business needs
- Ensure that all team members follow standard Food Safety, GMP, Personal Safety and company policies on a consistent basis
- Assist with workplace injuries by helping employees within the Extrusion department get care and complete required documentation(Safety is always #1!)
- Support hiring efforts by helping onboard and train new entry-level employees
- Assist with employee recruitment efforts, performance management, ongoing feedback, reviews, and discipline when needed
- Help motivate and develop employees by providing feedback, training, and clear expectations
- Support the Extrusion Management team with coordinating daily plant activities and team efforts(We really are a fun bunch!)
- Ensure materials and supplies are ready so production can run without delays
- Help track and report attendance, overtime, and all other reporting as needed
- At least 2 years of proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Documented ability to coach and train a group of up to 15 employees
- Dependability and a strong attendance record
- Microsoft Office skills(Basic computer skills are a must!)
- Lean manufacturing or 5S experience strongly preferred
- Extrusion machinery operating experience in Blown Film or similar manufacturing experience is preferred but not needed
- A willingness to learn and a positive attitude(We smile a lot!)
- Great communication skills and positive relationship building with co-workers
- High level of troubleshooting skills, organization, and excellent attention to detail
- High standards and intense focus on Safety, Quality and Training.
- Consistently adhere to all Food Safety, GMP, Personal Safety and Company Policy standards
Physical Requirements:
- Mobility in a manufacturing environment, including stairs and ladders, with a high level of exertion and flexibility for a 12-hour shift
- Able to bend, stoop and crouch on a regular basis to adjust settings on machinery and constantly moves about to coordinate and help with the workload
- Frequently lift, carry or otherwise move and position objects weighing up to 50-75+ pounds.
- Uses J-knife frequently and utility blade along with required PPE for cutting down scrap
hours are5:00 PM to 5:00 AM with a rotating schedule:
Week 1:
Work 4 days = M/T/F/S, 48 hrs including 8 hrs of paid overtime
Week 2:
Work 3 days = SU/W/TH, 36 hr week
(This schedule allows half the days off within a month!)
