Job Summary:
A leading metal fabrication company in Grand Rapids is looking for an experienced and dependable Material Handler to join their 2nd shift team! In this hands on role, you’ll play a key part in keeping production running smoothly—moving heavy materials, supporting multiple departments, and ensuring every part is in the right place at the right time. Stand-upForklift/Material Handler Responsibilities:
- 10 drop zones with 3-5 daily pickups
- Moving finished materials with Forklift
- Pull ordersfor Machine Shop, welding, CNC and component part materials
- Transfer material/ Fixed locations. With Forklift, Overhead Crane and Heavy material movement equipment
- Assist Receiving as time permits
- Ensure accurate inventory by weighing
- Counting all parts going into inventory
- Participate in Continuous Improvement and Suggestion System as required.
- 2nd Shift 2-11:30 Monday through Thursday and Fridays 2pm-6pm
- $ /HR DOE
Qualifications:
- GED or 1+ years of experience
- Experience driving forklifts stand up and sit down
- Ability to attain a forklift license
- Ability to attain overhead crane operator certification
- Past experience moving heavy steel coil a plus
- Prioritizes own work
- Read Job instructions or recognized procedures are readily available for assigned work
