Who We’re Looking For

Hood Container Corporation is seeking an Experienced Quality Technician for our Walker, MI plant who will be responsible for conducting internal and external quality audits, documenting and reporting nonconformances, and responding to customer inquiries. Strong organizational, teamwork, and self‑starter skills will lead you to success in this role.

• Communicate with colleagues and teammates to foster a strategic and first‑in‑class mentality.
• Assist with line verifications and line clearance verifications.
• Review and validate rejects and help problem‑solve with production to reduce/eliminate using root cause analysis.
• Perform first articles of inspection.
• Ensure the completion of all quality check sheets, production records, and quality reject sheets daily.
• Assist mock recalls as directed by the Quality Lead.
• Maintain the Quality Management System through daily walks and internal audits.
• Support all departments with internal and external quality concerns during a customer complaint.
• Support management with all internal and external audits.
• Perform quality and data entry daily tasks as needed.
• Must be able to work in high temperature and humidity conditions while wearing proper PPE including, but not limited to, hearing protection, steel‑toe shoes, and safety glasses.

• Computer skills – Excel, Word, Quality System, and Inventory Management Software.
• Excellent observation and organizational skills.
• Effective communication (oral/write) and training skill set.
• HS Diploma/G.E.D. required.

• Experience in the corrugated industry.
• 1–3 years previous QA/QC experience.
• Internal auditor certification or training.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015, HACCP, SQF, or ASI cGMP.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
