Sales Associate – responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service, generating sales, merchandising product, owning assigned departments, and supporting the store management team. The role may also include temporary Key Carrier duties in the absence of store or assistant management staff.

• Greets customers and assists with questions about merchandise, using the S.A.L.E.S. process to help customers find everything on their lists.
• Completes all company and departmental paperwork accurately, including Price Change Bulletins, Operation Actions, Red Tags, and Bin Tags.
• Receives, opens, and unpacks cartons or crates of merchandise, checks paperwork against items received, and replenishes stock as necessary.
• Displays and maintains merchandise on end caps, shelves, counters, or tables following the company plan‑ogram, building displays when necessary to attract customers and promote sales.
• Maintains on‑hand integrity through inventory adjustment reports, cycle counts, and negative on‑hand reconciliation.
• Follows the nightly maintenance checklist to ensure proper store recovery and cleanliness.
• Stays familiar with new products and advertising merchandise.
• Practices loss prevention techniques to minimize shoplifting losses.
• Operates store tools such as RF Gun, Back Office Procedures, and Store Opportunities.
• Follows GLA policies and procedures for all transactions.
• Engages customers to ensure they receive the benefits of being an Ace Rewards member.
• Communicates effectively with colleagues and customers in a professional manner.

• Assists with color matching and mixing paint.
• Provides recommendations to customers in service areas (chain, rope, key, glass cutting, screen repair, knife sharpening).
• Operates the cash register, engages the customer through suggestive selling, properly tenders each transaction, and thanks customers for shopping at GLA.
• Adheres to all company policies.
• Participates in periodic team meetings.
• Maintains a continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance, with flexibility for a varied schedule including weekends.

$15.00 per hour
