Job Description
This role leads field crews in safely moving, installing, and removing industrial machinery of all sizes in large manufacturing and industrial facilities. The Rigging Foreman plans and executes rigging projects involving stamping presses, weld cells, assembly cells, fixtures, and mezzanines while operating heavy lifting equipment and ensuring strict adherence to safety standards. The position combines hands‑on rigging work, equipment operation, crew leadership, and direct communication with customers and internal project teams.
Responsibilities- Safely move, install, and remove industrial machinery of various sizes in manufacturing and industrial environments.
- Plan and complete rigging projects involving large stamping presses, weld cells, assembly cells, fixtures, and mezzanines.
- Operate gantry systems, overhead cranes, and mobile cranes to lift, relocate, and position equipment.
- Operate forklifts ranging from 3-ton to 40-ton capacity to support machinery movement and installation.
- Lead and supervise crews on both small and large projects, ensuring work quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Coordinate daily tasks, assign work, and monitor progress to meet project schedules and customer expectations.
- Communicate regularly with customers, project managers, and estimators to provide updates on job status and address on‑site needs.
- Interpret and work from industrial blueprints and layout drawings to ensure accurate placement and installation of equipment.
- Adhere to all company safety standards, policies, and procedures, and promote a strong safety culture on every job site.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards before and during rigging and installation activities.
- Train apprentices and craft workers on rigging techniques, safe equipment operation, and proper work practices.
- Assist with machine repair and related mechanical tasks as needed during equipment relocation or installation.
- Support both maintenance‑focused work (relocating and replacing existing equipment) and installation construction projects (bringing in new equipment for expansions or new buildings).
- Travel to various job sites as required by project assignments and maintain professionalism while representing the company on customer locations.
- Maintain accurate time, equipment, and job documentation as required by company procedures.
- Minimum 5 years of experience installing and removing industrial machinery.
- Proven experience operating gantries, overhead cranes, and mobile cranes in industrial environments.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts ranging from 3-ton to 40-ton capacity.
- Strong industrial rigging experience, including moving, setting, and anchoring heavy equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret industrial blueprints and layout drawings.
- Valid driver's license.
- Hands‑on experience working in large industrial facilities performing equipment relocation and replacement.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise crews on multi‑day and complex projects.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, project managers, and estimators.
- Commitment to following and enforcing safety standards and company policies at all times.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with machine repair in an industrial setting.
Skills & Qualifications
- CDL Class A license beneficial but not required.
- Willingness to travel up to approximately 30–40% of the year as job site locations require, primarily during the week.
- Experience with fabrication work in an industrial or construction environment.
- Experience in industrial maintenance or installation construction, particularly involving new equipment installations for expansions or new buildings.
- Ability to train apprentices and craft workers and support their skills development.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to varying project conditions and schedules.
