BriefDuties and Responsibilities:
Performs fiscal management work under the direction of the Chief Finance Manager (Public Works). Assists with finance operations, including payroll, purchasing, accounts payable, budgetary reporting, billing, and revenue receipts. Maintains inventory and accounts for use of all department resources such as real property, construction/engineering equipment, repair parts, fuel, gravel, sand, etc. Assures accounting activities comply with generally accepted accounting principles and with the State of Washington’s budgeting accounting and reporting system (BARS).
Work is performed independently and requires sound judgment and discretion.
Duties are primarily performed in an office environment with extended periods sitting at a computer terminal and with occasional lifting of objects weighing 15 to 25 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:Education And Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Minimum of four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, data processing, and budgeting; OR a combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge and ability, in the opinion of management, required by the position.
Licenses And Other Requirements:
Must successfully pass a background check and a driving record check. Valid driver’s license required.
