Duties
* Screen calls and visitors, personally handling where possible or referring to appropriate operational office as required.
* Keep calendars of the organization's leadership and make appointments based upon incumbent's knowledge of previously scheduled appointments, meetings and planned work.
* Schedule appointments without prior approval and monitor calendar including social engagements.
* Read incoming correspondence and determines proper action, answering or referring those not requiring initial Commander involvement.
* Maintain suspense control on correspondence and follow up to ensure timely response action.
* View correspondence prepared in the organization for the Commander to ensure necessary concurrence has been obtained, and compliance with established policy and personal views of superior.
* Make travel arrangements by arranging schedule of visits, secure travel and hotel reservations, prepare constructed travel worksheets when required, travel vouchers and reports from notes provided upon return.
* Maintain a tasker log which provides status of taskers on a weekly basis or more frequently as changes occur. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Incumbent may be required to serve a 1-year probationary period.
* Incumbent may be required to travel up to 5% to perform duties/attend training.
* Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes experience using office automation equipment to maintain a scheduling calendar, proofreading and preparing correspondence, screening and routing phone calls, tracking suspense dates, transcribing meeting notes, making travel arrangements and maintaining time and attendance records. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education:
One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Business Management. OR Combination of
Education and Experience:
A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement:
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). Education FOREIGN
