BriefDuties and Responsibilities:
This is a part-time position that assist in coordinating and controlling changes made to tax assessment records for all segregation and consolidation requests within the county, including researching, verifying and correcting changes in value. This would also include tax roll corrections. Reads, interprets and verifies legal descriptions of affected properties, updates corresponding files and records, computes acreage involved and calculates assessed value, assuring the new assessed value balances with original certified assessed value.
WorkingEnvironment/Physical Abilities:
Work is conducted in the field as well as in an office setting. Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to operate computer keyboards and other related computer equipment including a mouse or other pointing device; seeing and reading of printed maps and data; hearing and speaking to communicate with others; bending and reaching to retrieve and store files; sitting and standing for extended periods of time and lifting up to twenty (20) pounds.
May require travel for training purposes and commute to other departments or government agencies.
High school diploma, or equivalent, additional coursework or education in surveying or computer aided drafting. Two (2) years of progressively responsible office experience, preferably in an assessor’s office or with a title company providing knowledge of legal descriptions and assessment procedures; or any combination of education and experience which would provide the applicant with the desired skills, knowledge and ability required to perform the job.
