Under the direction of the Branch Operations Coordinator, the Districtwide Substitute Library Assistant is responsible for working as part of the staff team to support circulation and customer service functions. The assistantworks as a main point of contact at the front desk and aids in circulation duties, shelving, programming support, and other duties as needed.
This position does not have set or guaranteed hours but rather is called upon to fill in at District library branches for planned and unplanned absences of staff. Candidates must have reliable personal transportation that would allow them to work at District branches across Walla Walla County (Burbank, College Place, Prescott, Touchet, and Vista Hermosa), and have the ability to communicate conversationally in Spanish.
This position is based out of the District Administrative Center in Walla Walla.
