JOB PURPOSE
Disability Access Services (DAS) at Whitman College is seeking a friendly, reliable, and organized student to serve as a Student Liaison. This position provides administrative support while helping create a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
The Student Liaison will be an important first point of contact for students accessing Disability Access Services and will assist with daily office operations, scheduling, communication, and general administrative tasks.
Depending on the needs of the office and the student's interests and skills, the student may also be asked to assist with special projects, such as developing content for or helping manage the DAS Instagram account, creating informational materials, or supporting outreach and awareness initiatives. These projects provide opportunities to build skills in communication, creativity, technology, and project management.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Front Desk & Student Support
- Greet students, faculty, staff, and visitors in a welcoming and professional manner.
- Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and in-person questions.
- Provide general information about DAS services, procedures, and resources.
- Assist students with scheduling appointments and navigating office processes.
- Maintain a welcoming and respectful environment for students with a wide range of identities, experiences, and access needs.
Administrative & Clerical Support
- Enter and update information in office systems as directed by DAS staff.
- Assist with general office organization and day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Assist with projects that support DAS outreach, education, and communication efforts.
- Help develop and maintain social media content, including assisting with the DAS Instagram account.
- Create or update informational materials, flyers, or other outreach resources as needed.
- Assist with accessibility awareness and campus outreach initiatives.
- Take on additional projects based on office needs and the student's skills and interests.

Individuals must be able to explain and demonstrate that they possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Maintain confidentiality and protect the privacy of students and their information.
- Follow DAS office procedures and expectations regarding student records and sensitive information.
- Exercise good judgment when determining when questions or concerns should be referred to a professional staff member.
- Strong interpersonal skills

Must be a Whitman College student
