As a Buyer, you will coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts supplies, and advertising for the organization. Purchasing will range from off-the-shelf to complex type items.

• Conducts annual purchases around $10 million.
• Manages major commodity and multiple top 20 accounts.
• Arranges and participates in conferences between suppliers and engineers, inspectors, and other company personnel to facilitate material inspection, substitution, standardization, rework, salvage, utilization, and economical procurement of parts and equipment.
• Consults with engineering personnel to establish performance criteria and specifications for manufacturing and testing.
• Works with suppliers’ base to establish programs to increase efficiencies and reduce overall costs
• Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
• Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
• Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
• Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
• Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
• Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
• Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and takes corrective action.
• Approves invoices for payment and resolves problem invoices promptly.
• Expedites delivery of goods to users and communicates information to internal customers.
• Searches for new qualified suppliers and/or products as required.
• Performs vendor surveys.
• Strives to keep inventory at a minimum and actively pursues reducing obsolete inventory.
• Other duties as assigned

• Be Self motivated
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• CPM or CPSM certified, Professional in Supply Chain Management, Certification in Purchasing Management

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year College or University
• Four or more years of relevant functional experience is required. Experience with purchasing in the manufacturing industry.
• Able to travel up to 10%
