Position: Fun Factory Leader

Looking for a FUN summer job? YWCA Walla Walla seeks a program leader for the FUN FACTORY!

Summary of Duties
  • Provide professional representation for the YWCA with program participants and the community
  • Provide leadership to youth and support to Fun Factory team
  • Drive Fun Factory van (must be 21+)
  • Develop, plan and organize activities for outdoor recreation program
  • Lead daily program activities
  • Assure safety of staff and program participants
  • Maintain order and discipline
  • Promote the mission of the YWCA
  • Keep accurate records and reports of attendance, purchases, activities and fuel use
  • Shop for activity supplies
Requirements
  • Ability to embrace and advance the YWCA mission of eliminating racism and empowering women
  • Ability to work with diverse populations with an outgoing, friendly, welcoming manner
  • Good physical health and endurance
  • Possess a valid driver license and a good driving record
  • High energy level
  • High comfort level for working with children
  • Ability to work with groups of all sizes
  • An open and creative mind
  • Ability to have fun and make things fun for youth
  • Ability to project a positive and professional image of the YWCA to the community
  • Ability to give and receive information effectively orally and in writing
  • Ability to make public presentations
  • Ability to perform duties with considerable independence of action and decision making and to make correct application of policies and procedures
  • Ability to enforce positive behavior and to lead by example
  • Ability to pass a background check
Experience and Training Guidelines
  • Experience working with children ages 5-10 in camping, school, childcare or other activities
  • Experience with arts and crafts and outdoor recreation
  • Experience in leadership and organization
