Job Overview

Aims Community College is seeking a faculty member to teach Automotive Service Technology courses. The candidate will conduct assignments and co‑curricular activities consistent with the college’s mission and values. The primary purpose of the role is to teach.

Work Hours

Teach day and/or evening classes at Windsor campus and/or other assigned locations.

Job Duties

Candidates will be part of a hiring pool for part‑time term positions in Automotive Service Technology. Teaching assignments may include a variety of courses within Automotive Service Technology, depending on the candidate’s area of expertise.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in a related field such as Diesel Power Mechanics plus 4,000 hours of relevant industry experience, OR
  • Current industry license or certification plus 6,000 hours of relevant industry experience.
  • Post‑secondary vocational credential in Automotive issued by the Aims Community College CTE Office.
  • Full and current Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in A1–A8. ASE G1 certification required prior to first day; ASE L1 required within first year.
  • Use of a company vehicle for business travel; successful MVR and insurability under Aims insurance.
  • Knowledge and experience with personal computers, automotive service repair systems, and instructional technology.
  • Ability to build test banks, operate and maintain automotive service industry equipment, and manage multiple students simultaneously.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency and teaching methodologies supporting a student‑centered learning environment.
  • Willingness to take coursework in teaching methods, curriculum development, or computer applications.
  • Positive attitude toward varied modalities, including online, synchronous remote, and traditional face‑to‑face instruction.

  • Previous college teaching experience.
