Vice President of Instruction
Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) is seeking a Vice President of Instruction to lead academic and workforce education programs at the Walla Walla campus.

Job OverviewProvide visionary and conscientious academic leadership to advance the college's mission and institutional goals in the area of instruction. The Chief of Instruction will develop and administer instructional policies and procedures for all college academic and workforce education programs.
Essential Functions- Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities
- Provide leadership for the Instruction division and collaborate with the president's executive leadership team in support of the College's vision, mission, guiding principles, and strategic plan.
- Support the mission of the college in all instructional areas; collaboratively develop and oversee implementation of divisional goals and planning processes for each instructional area.
- Promote connection and belonging throughout the operations of the entire college but especially within the instructional unit.
- Engage actively in leading or promoting various college initiatives that increase student or institutional success such as Guided Pathways, Title III, etc.
- Foster collaborative partnerships with full‑time and part‑time faculty in a unionized environment.
- Lead the instructional division with a systems‑approach to ensure that the entire institution functions at the highest possible level of excellence.
- Manage professional and paraprofessional staff.
- Budget/Fiscal Scope
- Participate in strategic and inclusive decision‑making that is open and transparent regarding fiscal priorities.
- Oversee the creation of resourceful, student‑centered and fiscally responsible multi‑level budgets and spending for the instructional unit.
- Maintain reasonable strategic and innovative direction during fiscal challenges that includes working collaboratively to establish short‑ and long‑term sustainable financial strategies and goals.
- Support campus efforts to generate sustainable revenue sources from grants, new programs, community partnerships, etc.
- Act as signature authority for all Instruction division budgets.
- Student‑Centered Instruction
- Advance WWCC's commitment to providing high‑quality credentials, including certificates and degrees, program. Maintain or expand/enhance all programs, including Applied Baccalaureate Degrees, to ensure that WWCC meets the needs of the communities it serves.
- Advance teaching practices and innovative instructional delivery models that demonstrate an understanding of evolving student needs and an emphasis on student success.
- Enhance and expand the College's Workforce, Academic, and Transitional Studies programs.
- Support the college's Corrections Education campuses (Washington State Penitentiary and Coyote Ridge Correctional Facility).
- Assessment/Accreditation
- Provide oversight and support for assessment of student learning at all levels of instruction, and at the course‑program‑and‑institutional levels.
- Partner with the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness to generate, analyze, understand, and utilize data to engage in a cycle of continuous improvement.
- Actively participate in institutional and unit‑level strategic planning that is collaborative and responsive to college and community needs.
- Communication/Collaboration
- Collaborate with campus departments such as Marketing, Outreach, Student Services and Institutional Research to ensure all instructional programs remain responsive to student needs using data to inform equitable and inclusive practices.
- Promote Dual Enrollment, including Running Start, College in the High School, and Open Doors; develop and maintain relationships with local school district leaders in our service area.
- Represent WWCC at local, state, regional, and national events; participate in governance structures, attend Instruction Commission meetings, and others as appropriate.
