Digital Navigator learning assistant

The Digital Navigator will provide community-based lessons on computer and technology use.

• Complete Northstar systems and Digital Navigator training with Goodwill staff
• Facilitate weekly digital literacy classes in small groups of 5-10 learners at Walla Walla Senior Center
• Create a welcoming, patient, and supportive learning environment
• Use the Northstar platform to guide learners through pre-designed modules
• Track participant progress and communicate attendance or issues, as needed to Goodwill staff
• Provide one-on-one assistance during class, as needed
• Coordinate with staff at Goodwill of Walla Walla and Walla Walla Senior Center

• Basic desktop & laptop computer literacy (internet navigation, common software use)
• Strong communication skills with adult learners of all ages and abilities
• Organized with good attention to detail

• Gain hands-on experience teaching a small class of volunteer learners

• Current undergraduate student at Whitman in good academic standing
• Eligible for WA State Work Study (meaning, recipient of a work study award and a resident of WA state)
• Reliable and able to commit for the full Fall term
• Availability to work consistently on Mondays from 3pm-4:30pm

• Demonstrated interest in education, community engagement, or workforce development
