Job Summary: Assist in testing and reporting for electrical engineering devices, equipment, or systems, ensuring compliance with established criteria and specifications.
Responsibilities- Assist in the development of test plans for testing programs of electrical engineering devices, equipment, or systems using established criteria or specifications.
- Assist in testing electrical engineering devices, equipment, or systems using established criteria.
- Analyze electrical engineering test results.
- Prepare technical reports and studies with completeness, technical adequacy, and adherence to prescribed format.
- Must sign a mobility agreement if selected.
- Must sign an Army Fellows Participant Agreement if selected.
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre‑Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is required.
Basic Requirement For Electrical Engineer:
- Degree:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in an engineering school accredited by the ABET; OR (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses in at least five of the following seven areas: statics, dynamics; strength of materials; fluid mechanics, hydraulics; thermodynamics; electrical fields and circuits; nature and properties of materials;
and any comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics. - Degree must be completed by June 2026.
Combination of
Education and Experience:
- College-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnishes a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering and a good understanding of engineering sciences and techniques.
- Demonstration of such background by one of the following:
- Professional registration or licensure (e.g., Engineer Intern, Engineer in Training, or Professional Engineer).
- Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination or equivalent written test.
- Completion of at least 60 semester hours of specified courses.
- Completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field with at least one year of professional engineering experience under supervision.
Specialized
Experience:
- One year of specialized experience, including assist in developing test plans, testing, or analyzing results and reporting discrepancies.
Additional Educational Options:
- One year of graduate level education (or will have completed by June 2026) in a relevant field such as engineering.
- Successful completion of all requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) by June 2026, meeting criteria for class standing, GPA, or honor society membership.
- Successful completion of a 5‑year ABET‑accredited engineering program by June 2026.
Foreign
Education:
If using education completed in foreign institutions, credentials must be evaluated by a private organization and deemed equivalent to a U.S. accredited program or given full credit at a U.S. institution.
- Position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce.
- Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
- 1‑year probationary period during which the agency evaluates fitness and continuation.
- Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
- Selection may be subject to DoD referral system restrictions for displaced employees.
- Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement.
- Salary includes locality pay or Local Market Supplement.
- Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is authorized under Joint Travel Regulations.
- Incumbent works under close supervision, performing developmental assignments intended to build competency for future positions.
