Position Overview

The Senior Telecommunications and Network Specialist will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and resilient telecommunications and networking infrastructures supporting the Walla Walla location. This position demands a highly skilled individual with a Security+ and CCNA certifications as a minimum, to support the complex needs of the USACE.

• Deploy secure network architectures, including VoIP, wireless communications, and encrypted data systems, ensuring compliance with USACE and DoD standards.
• Conduct routine and emergency maintenance tasks, upgrade systems, and implement cutting‑edge cybersecurity measures to safeguard all telecommunications infrastructures.
• Quickly identify and resolve network issues, enhance system performance, and ensure the reliability and security of communications channels.
• Ensure operations adhere to the highest standards of security and compliance as set forth by the DoD and USACE, maintaining documentation for audit and review processes.
• Work closely with District leaders and other IT professionals to plan and execute network expansions, technological upgrades, and the integration of new systems, aligning with strategic goals and mission requirements.
• Serve as a central team member promoting a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.

• Demonstrated expertise in secure telecommunications and network technologies, protocols, and security practices.
• Proven ability supporting complex projects, troubleshooting and resolving significant technical challenges, and innovating within a regulated environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and with senior stakeholders.

• Active Secret Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or preferred degree.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications or network engineering, with a strong preference for backgrounds in DoD or federal agency support.
• Must hold current Security+ and CCNA certifications. Cisco certification in lieu of CCNA, but must work toward CCNA.
• Intermediate Level experience.

Contract position based out of Walla Walla, WA. The pay range for this position is $40.00–$43.00 per hour. The organization reserves the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.

This is a fully onsite, contract position in Walla Walla, WA.
