Duties

Help
  • Serve as the Geospatial Technician (Survey) for the Walla Walla District.
  • Perform Surveying and Mapping services.
  • Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), advanced modeling, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • Create contract specifications, Architect-Engineer (A-E) service contracts, contract drawings, scope of work, government estimates, negotiation of contracts, and field data collection and reduction.
  • Support large, multi-functional civil works projects during the planning, design, construction, and operation phases.
  • Surveying licensure and/or training is highly desirable and should be mentioned within resume if attained (e.g. Land Surveyor Intern (LSI), Land Surveyor in Training (LSIT), surveying related education or training, etc.)

  • The work requires regular field work which involves physical exertion.
  • This position includes regular and recurring exposure to hazards and conditions at construction sites or large hydropower projects.

GS-9 Specialized

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying theories, principles, concepts, standards, and/or methods of fundamental surveying, including basic topography or Unmanned Aerial Surveying. (Must be well documented in resume to be considered). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-8).

GS-11 Specialized

Experience:

One year of specialized experience which includes experience applying theories, principles, concepts, standards, and/or methods of surveying as they relate to topographic, Unmanned Aerial Surveying techniques, and public land surveying (e.g.) not Colonial metes and bounds). (Must be well documented in resume to be considered). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).
