Consumer Loan Processor Underwriter

The Consumer Loan Processor / Underwriter plays a key supporting role in the lending team, working closely with the Consumer Loan Advisors to deliver positive and timely experience to our clients. In this position, you will assist in gathering documentation from clients and third-party vendors to prepare loan files for underwriting. You will help track timely delivery of disclosures and documentation, while carefully reviewing and analyzing income and collateral documents to evaluate loan files to make sound loan decisions that align with the bank's standards and lending policy.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting walk-in clients, answering phones and scheduling appointments.
- Work with clients and Advisors to gather required documents
- Work with vendors to complete all necessary order outs as required.
- Communicate with title companies, realtors, vendors and clients on loan progress
- Review documents as they arrive for accuracy and updating the information as required
- Review Appraisals and AVMs for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in sending/managing timely delivery of disclosures
- Organize complete file and complete credit and income underwriting according to company policy and investor guidelines as appropriate.
- Evaluate all applicants' credit risk and deliver appropriate credit decisions within approval limits.
- Orders closing documents for loan files
- Manage follow-up items after closing
Skills and Qualifications

- Knowledge of federal regulations as they pertain to lending

- Knowledge of different loan types/products
Education and Experience Requirements
- Processor / Underwriter I: bachelor's or associate degree in business, finance or related degree; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. General understanding of banking and/or financial services industry.
- Processor / Underwriter II:
Developed the knowledge, skills and experience to function independently and proficiently in all aspects of loan processing and underwriting in either the Consumer or Commercial channel. This includes, but is not limited to: - 3 years' experience in consumer level income analysis and underwriting
- Proficient understanding of Consumer lending compliance and regulations
- Proficient in understanding and analysis of business financials and business structure
- Expertise in Freddie Mac lending guidelines and use of the Seller Servicer Guide
- Proficient knowledge of Baker Boyer Loan Policy
