Police Officer (Traffic Investigator) with Security Clearance

Duties
* Serves as the subject matter expert for traffic collision response, investigations, reconstruction and traffic management operations.
* Advises supervisor on traffic management issues impacting readiness and traffic movement of the installation.
* Exercises search and arrest authority, detains witnesses, apprehends suspects, interviews witnesses and other persons involved.
* Collects and preserves evidence, conducts short-term and long-term investigations on criminal cases and analyze facts to identify suspects and develops case information.
* Conducts and/or participates in civilian training regarding various law enforcement topics conducted on an Army installation. Requirements Conditions of employment
* Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
* Successfully graduated from the United States Army Civilian Police Academy, unless incumbent has a current approved waiver/exemption or grandfathered from the Office of the Provost Marshal General.
* Successfully graduated from a DOD, Federal, National or State approved Traffic Management and Collision Investigation (TMCI) course or complete within one year of hire date.
* Incumbent must be able to successfully pass training and certification requirements related to law enforcement work functions as prescribed by policy. These include weapons qualifications and National Incident Management System (NIMS).
* Pass a Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire date and annually thereafter.
* Successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring medical evaluation
* This requires the incumbent to meet and maintain the Individual Personnel Reliability Program (IRP) standards in accordance with Army Regulation 190-56.
* This is a drug testing designated position (TDP) under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program.
* This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
* The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states
* Incumbent must be able obtain and maintain a valid Tier 2 (Secret) security investigation.
* Official Temporary Duty (TDY) up to 10% of the time may be required.
* Incumbent is subject to possible civil action due to improper exercises of authority or injudicious use of force in the apprehension or detention of individuals.
* This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
* This position requires certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) training.
* This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
* This position has a requirement to lift up to 50 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
* Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
* This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
