Join our team as a Pharmacy Assistant at Family Medical Center in Walla Walla, WA!
Pharmacy Assistants play a vital role in supporting patient access to medications and pharmacy services s role provides essential clerical, customer service, and medication support functions to help ensure patients receive accurate, timely, and safe pharmacy services. This position helps ensure smooth pharmacy operations and a positive patient experience.
Position Highlights- 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week)
- $19.39-$23.76/hour DOE with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates

- Assist patients at the pharmacy counter by delivering prescriptions, collecting payments, and coordinating pharmacist counseling as needed
- Enter and verify patient, prescription, and billing information accurately in pharmacy systems
- Answer phones, respond to non-clinical inquiries, and route calls appropriately
- Process prescription refills and assist with third-party billing and prior authorizations as allowed by state regulations
- Support inventory management by restocking medications, checking expiration dates, and verifying incoming orders
- Maintain pharmacy documentation and workflows in compliance with YVFWC, HRSA, and regulatory standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- One year of pharmacy assistant, office, administrative, patient care or customer service experience
- Pharmacy Assistant state registration required within 60 days of hire (or active Pharmacy Intern License)
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking skills required at a level 9
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy workflows
- Experience using pharmacy software systems
Drug testing:
This position requires testing for controlled substances before employment and will be subject to further testing throughout employment.
