Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

• Assist care recipient with personal hygiene, including shower, tub or bed bath and mouth, skin and hair care
• Assist care recipient in use of toilet facilities, including bedpans
• Assist care recipient in and out of bed, including the use of mechanical lifting equipment when applicable
• Assist care recipient with walking, including use of walker and wheelchair when applicable
• Remind or prompt for care recipient self-administration of medications
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding when required
• Remind client to perform prescribed exercises that are ordered from a licensed Physical Therapist
• Measure and record fluid intake and output if required
• Perform light housekeeping duties
• Accompany or transport care recipient to appointments or for errands if required
• Record and report changes in the care recipient’s physical condition, behavior or appearance to the designated supervisor
• Document services delivered in accordance with agency care records, policies and procedures and submit weekly to the Visiting Angels office
