Pharmacy Technician

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech II performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS).

• H.S. Diploma or GED.
• Upon hire:
  Washington Pharmacy Technician License.
• Minimum of one year (> 2080 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and current PTCB certification - OR -
  • 2 years (>4160 hours) hospital pharmacy if not PTCB certified.

• Coursework/Training:
  
  Graduation from a Pharmacy Tech program approved by the WA State Board of Pharmacy.
• Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state.
• Experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).
