JOB TITLE:Whitman Wire Social Media Associate
PAY RANGE: $17.13 to $17.13/hour
START DATE:September 6, 2026

The Whitman Wire is a student-run newspaper that publishes 10 issues each semester and provides jobs and work experience for students. Having a strong presence online is important for us as a newspaper because we want people to have access to and read our content! The Social Media Associates will work directly with the Web Editor and Publisher to help increase The Wire’s social media presence.

This is a paid position, with a weekly work hour cap of 2 hours.

• Posting daily on the Wire’sInstagram, Facebook, and/or other social media platforms
• Brainstorming new ways to gain followers on our social media platforms
• Developing strategies for improving our social media experience (polls, videos, etc.)

Individuals must be able to explain and demonstrate that they possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to safely perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Have an interest in social media marketing.
• Ability to advertise the Wire as professional, clean, and aesthetically appealing as possible.
• Ability to work with others.

As a result of being in this role, students will strengthen their ability to use social media as an advertising tool for an organization and work effectively as a member of a team.

Must be a current Whitman College student.
