American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level III Trauma Center, requiring Epic proficiency and 2 years of ER experience on night shifts.
Details- Work setting is a short-term acute care Level III Trauma Center with 104 staffed beds
- Combined adult and pediatric general emergency department
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:00
- Rotating weekends required
- Block scheduling required
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Epic EMR experience required
- No on-call responsibilities
- No floating between units within the facility, though travelers are expected to float between facilities within the state
- Active WA or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC preferred
- Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Experience with triage, IV therapy/phlebotomy, cardiac monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with emergency medications, IV vasopressors, procedural sedation, and continuous IV sedation
- Experience managing psychiatric patients including acute psychosis, drug overdose, suicidal patients, and psychiatric holds
- Experience with neurological emergencies including CVA and traumatic brain injury
- Experience with respiratory management including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation
- Experience with shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputation
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Charge nurse experience preferred but not required (only required for Charge RN-specific requests)
- Scrubs may be any color
- No parking fee at this facility
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility (permanent, travel, or per-diem/registry) must disclose the location and dates of that employment
- Former permanent Providence staff must wait at least 3 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted but at a different pay rate
- All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO may not be approved
- Preferred skills include pediatric emergency care, orthopedic trauma, chest tube management, ICP monitoring, and STEMI/stroke-certified facility experience
