NICU RN — Level III, Walla Walla, WA

Assignment Details

• Shift: Days, 3x12s (6:00 AM – 6:30 PM)
• Local radius: 50 miles (ask about local rate)
• Start: ASAP
• No on-call required
• Weekends:
  Every other, may exceed to meet unit needs
• No block scheduling; scheduling requests due to outside employment will not be considered

Unit Overview

• Level III NICU — ~190 births/month
• Community hospital; no surgeries performed on-site
• May float to Mother/Baby (full float if couplet-care experienced)

Requirements

• 2 years RN experience, minimum 1 year in NICU specialty — first-timers to travel accepted
• BLS and NRP required (NRP Advanced accepted if candidate commits to completing before start)
• PALS required

Key Clinical Skills

• Ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP), Bubble CPAP, High Frequency Ventilation/Oscillators, HFNC, Vapotherm
• Umbilical line placement/management (UAC/UVC), PICC and mid-line management, central line care
• Titration of vasoactive drips (Dopamine, Dobutamine), IV vasopressors, Fentanyl/Versed
• High-risk delivery attendance, therapeutic hypothermia (cooling), surfactant administration, nitric oxide (iNO)
• Management of NEC, neonatal sepsis, respiratory distress syndrome, seizure disorders, neonatal abstinence syndrome
• Neonatal dosage calculations, phlebotomy, blood/blood product administration
• Full-spectrum feeding support (bottle, breast, gavage), developmental care, thermoregulation

Special Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, smart pumps, feeding pumps, isolettes, warmers, high-frequency vents/oscillators
