Job Details:
Seeking a skilled Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse for a 13‑week travel assignment in Walla Walla, Washington. Opportunity to provide specialized care and support a clinical team with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.
The RN delivers specialized care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterization and interventional treatments. Key duties include patient preparation, assisting during procedures, monitoring immediate post‑procedure recovery, and maintaining cath lab equipment.
Responsibilities- Conduct assessment of patients prior to procedures, including reviewing medical history and performing physical exams.
- Assist in positioning patients correctly and ensure EKG electrodes and cardiac leads are properly placed.
- Assist physicians during procedures, including placement of catheters, wires, balloons, stents, structural heart devices, and other cardiac interventions.
- Operate and monitor hemodynamic equipment, recognizing and responding to changes in cardiac rhythms and hemodynamic waveforms.
- Assist in arterial and/or venous sheath removal using closure devices, manual pressure, or mechanical compression, and transport patients to the appropriate recovery area.
- Monitor vital signs, ECG, and hemodynamic parameters during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures.
- Support post‑procedure care, including monitoring patient recovery and ensuring a smooth transition to the next phase of care.
- Maintain and troubleshoot cath lab equipment, ensuring everything is functioning properly and fully stocked for procedures.
- Communicate effectively with team members, patients, families, and physicians to provide seamless care.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- One year of recent experience as a Cath Lab RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.
- Current ACLS Certification.
- PALS or ENPC Certifications.
- RCIS certification.
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills.
Physical:
Ability to remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
Interpersonal:
Ability to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) and present a positive attitude and professionalism.
Technical/Motor:
Ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment.
